Friendly staff and quick turnaround on a smog check. Only downside was no waiting room but with Covid it would probably be closed anyway.

I can't evaluate the quality of a smog test but I can speak to the efficient, pleasant, professional interaction with everyone at Golden Gear. Especially impressed with their thorough disinfecting of vehicle after service.

Our 2012 Toyota Highlander needed an oil change, and the usual place we use in Santa Rosa was booked out till the end of July. An employee there, realizing we lived in Sebastopol which is where Golden Gear is located, recommended them (Alex) to us. So glad we went with her suggestion! We got an appointment the next day. The oil change included a multi-point inspection and free tire rotation. Things under the hood needed attention. Long story short, we had neglected (forgotten!) our 60,000 mile maintenance check (about 12,000 miles ago), and Alex took care of that for us. He was easy to talk to and work with. And he called us when the car was ready the following morning. Alex is very nice, friendly, professional and honest. And he provided personalized service. I’m glad we were referred to Golden Gear and will definitely be going back for oil changes and more in the future!
